Jezzie

Jezzie is finally able to see that Dominic is an individual. Today is the first day that she has recognized him as such, and wished for him to give her attention as well. Up till now she has thought of Dominic as an extra appendage of myself. When he is on the floor right next to her, she ignores him. Or, she might walk right by him as if he doesn't exist. She has no trouble jumping into my lap as I am feeding Dominic. However, it becomes a bit crowed and she is the one to go.

I often feel bad at how much less attention she receives these days. However, my only consolation is that soon he will be old enough to want to play and harass her as often as she would like. I'm sure when that day arrives, she will be in kitty heaven.

Ralph on the other hand has loved Dominic since day one. It is funny that when it comes to the baby of the family that the scared cat is the one to take a liking to him first. He loves to walk up to Dominic and just walk back and forth, back and forth, while Dominic runs his hands across his fur. Ralph's loud motor is running all the while. It will be interesting to see if Ralph changes his tune as Dominic gets older and is able to cover more ground.

Dominic is 17 weeks old today!
